Work on getting in the basement’s new concrete floor is underway. A gravel base was put in, then a vapor barrier and wire mesh for structural support. They have so far completed concrete pouring in the West wing, adjacent clock vault area and vestibule, and kitchenette. The remaining concrete pouring should be completed within the next week. After that, they will do two rounds of polishing, and save the final third concrete polishing for later. This allows for any potential damage during structural repairs or other work to be polished out for a clean look.

Plumbers repaired the main drain line collapse on the exterior of our front lawn and found no additional repairs were needed in the remainder of the line. Next up is framing. With new floors and walls, the renovated spaces are really starting to come back to life!
