Telescope Loan and Consultation Program
The Cincinnati Observatory offers 1-month telescope loans, included for members at the family level or above! You can meet with us at the Observatory to go over the available telescopes, decide which is best for you, and we'll show you how to use it!
We also offer consultations at the observatory if you want to know more about a telescope you have, or advice for buying one of your own. A one hour consultation is $40 for non-members and $30 for members.
We offer convenient pickup timeslots on Wednesdays and Sundays. Whether you are a seasoned backyard astronomer or looking for a fun family activity, our easy-to-use telescopes come with everything you need to start exploring.
How it works:
1. Reserve: Use the link below to schedule your pickup time and sign the waiver.
2. Pick Up: Meet a Telescope Team member for a quick overview and receive our "Telescope 101" guide or download here.
3. Explore: Enjoy the stars for up to one month. Keep track of your viewing with a Stargazers Observation Log.
4. Schedule Return: Use the email link provided to you to schedule a return time.
5. Return: Bring the equipment back for the next person to enjoy.
