General Information

Herget Building with star trails
Thank you for your interest in a tour of the Observatory! Due to our Summer camps the weeks of July 22, and July 29th, we will not be open for our usual daytime tours of the building. Instead, we'll be hosting walking tours of our neighborhood, the Observatory Historic District, (weather permitting) where we will see lovely houses, some close to the Observatory's heart! We will have self-guided activities for kids of all ages available all Summer! For a full list of programs and events for the summer, please take a look at our Events page.

If you're still interested in a building tour, we will be hosting Friday tours on 8/16, as well as evening tours 7/22, 7/24, and 7/31. We will post more information on each of these on our Events page as they approach. Thank you!

Hours:

Every Tuesday and Thursday, Noon-3pm

Our museum space is open Noon - 3pm. Tours run on the hour at Noon, 1pm, and 2pm.

All tours start at the main building. If you cannot manage steps, please see our section on Visitors with Additonal Needs regarding building access under 1873 Observatory Building - Herget.
