2025 Calendar Photo Contest

The Cincinnati Observatory invites any and all amateur and professional photographers to enter our 2024 Photo Contest. Winning photographs will be used for our 2025 Cincinnati Observatory Calendar.

The “Best of Show” winner will have the honor of gracing the cover of our annual publication and will be treated to a private reception at the Observatory for up to 20 guests (date subject to availability). Eleven alternate winners will have their winning photos included in the 2025 calendar. All 12 selected participants will also be honored at a special reception night to display their winning photos and receive a personal tour of the Cincinnati Observatory including viewing out of our 1843 telescope (weather permitting). Each recipient will also be given three free 2024 calendars as they are published.

Eclipse Photo Contest

The Cincinnati Observatory invites anyone who viewed the total solar eclipse April 8, 2024 to enter our Solar Eclipse Photo Contest. We want to see how you captured the spirit of the once-in-a-lifetime total solar eclipse.
 
The “Best of Show” winner of each category will automatically be featured in the 2025 Cincinnati Observatory Calendar. Each winner will also win a family membership. The winners will be announced at our Eclipse Chasers Reception on April 27, 1-3pm. All finalists will be notified and invited to the reception.
 
Deadline for all entries will be April 18, 2024. We will accept entries in both Children and Adult categories. We will accept all kinds of photographs including photos of the eclipse, effects of the eclipse, others viewing the eclipse, and more!
 
All entries are subject to use by the Observatory for social media, promotional use, and printed materials. Credit will be given to the photographer.
