International Observe the Moon Night

Saturday October 1, 7-9pm

The Moon has been lighting up the night sky all week and now you can see it up close and personal.  IOTMN includes a tour of the historic Cincinnati Observatory and a brief talk about the Moon from Astronomer Dean Regas.

And if it is clear, you will get to see the Moon through the Observatory telescopes (weather permitting). 

Tickets: $12/adult, $7/child (under 18)

Jupiter Night

Friday October 7, 8-11pm

Learn all about the largest planet in our solar system.  And if it is clear, you will get to see Jupiter, Saturn, and the Moon through the Observatory telescopes (weather permitting). 

Tickets: $12/adult, $7/child (under 18)

Day-of tickets: $15/adult, $10/child

Astronomy Evenings with Saturn and Jupiter

October 6, 14, 21, 22, and 28 at 8pm

Saturn season is here and Jupiter is coming and you can find out more about our biggest planets.

Astronomy Evenings with Saturn and Jupiter includes a tour of historic buildings and telescopes, and viewing through telescopes (weather permitting). 

The program is geared for ages 9 and up.

Admission is $15 for adults - $7 for children under 18 - Free for Observatory members!

Reservations and payment are required in advance.

COVID-19 Information for Nighttime Visitors

Effective April 1st: We have updated our COVID protocols as we continue to keep the safety of our guests, volunteers and staff the highest priority: 
 
  1. We recommend and encourage all guests to wear a face mask that covers their nose and mouth when attending in person Observatory programming. 

  2. For added safety, we will limit the number of attendees at all programs and events to ensure distancing can be maintained. 

  3. We will clean the public areas, equipment, and exhibits before and after each program and have hand sanitizer available in each building for visitors and staff.

  4. We will be maintaining our policy that anyone who feels unwell or displays symptoms associated with COVID-19 will be asked to stay home.

  5. All Cincinnati Observatory staff and volunteers are vaccinated against COVID 19 to help maintain their safety and wellness, as well as those of our guests.
