2-Night Telescope Festival - September 14 & 15

Astronomy Dinner and Lecture

Friday September 14 at 7pm
At Clark Montessori School

Kicking off the weekend don't miss this special event featuring good food and super stars. 

The Observatory welcomes Michael Bakich, Senior Editor at Astronomy Magazine, who will present:
STAR DEATH, an explosive talk that deals with the lives of stars beginning with their births all the way to their sometimes spectacular deaths.

A special dinner will be provided by Venice on Vine

After the lecture, guests will then be welcome to go to the nearby Cincinnati Observatory for viewing through the telescopes (weather permitting).

Cost: $25/person

ScopeOut 2018 - The Main Event

Telescope Festival at the Cincinnati Observatory
Saturday September 15, from 6-10pm

Want to see the coolest telescopes in the Tri-state?  Want to look through a telescope to see the Moon, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars?  Join the members of the Cincinnati Observatory as we celebrate the telescope.  Dozens of astronomers will set up their telescopes and share their knowledge, passion, expertise between 6-8pm. 

Then as darkness falls, from 8-10pm they will share views through their own telescopes (weather permitting).  Plus the massive Cincinnati Observatory telescopes will be in operation to view the planets up close.  

We will also have activities for students of all ages, meteorites on display, new and used telescopes for sale, and a food truck from Golden Goose

      Admission is $5/person - Free for Observatory members
