Art Contest
In celebration of its 150th Anniversary
The Cincinnati Observatory invites any and all artists to enter our Herget Building Art Contest. We want to see your rendition of our Herget building in any 2d media of your choosing, to celebrate the 150th anniversary of its completion in 1873.
The “Best of Show” winner will have the honor of having their image used on new promotional materials, including merchandise to celebrate the 150th Anniversary. We will also display the winning submission with our Special Exhibit honoring the Samuel Hannaford building. Ten additional finalists and two honorable mentions will have their winning submissions honored at a special Art Show and Reception on May 20, 2023 from 4-6pm to display their winning works. The Best of Show will be announced at the Art Show on May 20th.
The Children's contest will have one best in show, and three additional finalists.
Deadline for all entries will be April 30. A committee of staff at the Cincinnati Observatory will review the entries and select the winners. Winners will be announced May 3.
