“Keep Looking Up!”
Star Gazers are ComingFrom 1976 until 2010 the champion of backyard astronomers saluted the universe with his catch-phrase, “Keep looking up!” Jack Horkheimer, Star Hustler and Star  Gazer developed a cult following from his ability to make the wonders of space accessible, from his eccentric manner of speaking, and notably from his quirky yet hip kitschy television program "Star Gazer." Almost everyone has seen Jack sitting on a beam of light while pointing out the highlights of the night sky and flipping from planet to planet. He showed up late at night on PBS stations across the country when you least suspected to learn some astronomy. This iconic program now airs on over 200 stations worldwide. When Horkheimer passed away in August 2010, the producers of "Star Gazer" (WPBT2 in Miami), were dedicated to continuing the show. Our very own Dean Regas auditioned and has appeared as a guest host for six of the previous ten months.  The New Star Gazers
Now a new generation of Star Gazers will carry on Jack’s tradition with a reformatted and updated program called “Star Gazers.” The new show features two cohosts. Joining Dean Regas is James Albury, the Director of the Kika Silva Pla Planetarium in Gainesville, Florida and Marlene Hidalgo, a special-education teacher in Miami, Florida. They will bring the stars and planets to you every night on PBS stations around the globe. In the Cincinnati area, CET 48 usually runs “Star Gazers” at 11:55pm, Monday-Friday, and various times during the weekend. ThinkTV 14 airs the program at 9:55pm, Monday-Friday and other times during the week where space permits.
