Charitable contributions and membership are what have kept the Observatory an active and vibrant Cincinnati institution since our founding in 1842.
In 1842, committed group of individuals invested $25 each to secure the finest telescope available for America's first public observatory. With additional fundraising and donations of land, skilled talent and physical supplies, the Cincinnati Observatory has made a lasting impact for 8 generations in our community. That same telescope is used on a daily basis to “WOW” school students and adults with the wonders of the universe. 21st century visitors to the Observatory can’t help but marvel at the beauty and elegance of the machinery, as well as the stunning architecture of the timeless historic buildings.
Please join us with a membership contribution to the Cincinnati Observatory in order to assure that the telescopes and grounds are available for the next 8 generations of star gazers.
